Developmentally Appropriate Programs
Promoting self-identity, self-reliance, language development, social skills and social thinking, fine and large motor skills, mastery of basic classroom conduct and routines (such as sharing, taking turns, following directions and working in a group,) kindergarten readiness skills based on NYS standards. We are keenly aware of the skills needed for making a successful transition to kindergarten. Our teachers are flexible and creative as they constantly strive to make learning fun and relevant to the children's lives.
Dynamic Child-Centered Curriculum
Featuring STEAM, imaginative play, arts & crafts, circle time, show and tell, fingerplays, cooking, science, social studies, critical thinking and reasoning, manipulatives & math, reading comprehension, pre-writing and writing skills, theme days, music, creative movement, plays, educational field trips, and more. We employ a professional creative movement/music consultant, who works with the children two to three times a month. Our curriculum is designed with the realization that preschoolers learn best through play and that many hands-on experiences are necessary before children are ready for symbols (letters and numbers.) We offer children the opportunities to learn in different ways – auditory, visual and kinesthetic.
